Held at the Barnet Elementary School on the first Tuesday of March beginning at 10 AM. Beginning 2018, this meeting includes only the annual meeting of the Town of Barnet, not of the Barnet School District. The Caledonia Cooperative School District, a merger of Barnet, Walden, and Waterford school districts, formed July 1, 2018. See more below regarding elections for this merged district. Northeast Kingdom Waste Management District Budget Vote
Barnet votes on the proposed waste district budget each year at the Barnet Elementary School on the first Tuesday of March – in conjunction with Town Meeting. Voting hours are 7 AM to 7 PM.

Caledonia Cooperative School District Annual Meeting. This district, a merger of Barnet, Walden, and Waterford school districts, formed on July 1, 2018. An Australian ballot election will be held, with polling places in all three towns, on the first Tuesday of April each year. Barnet’s polling place is the Fire & Rescue Station at 151 Bimson Drive. Voting hours are 7 AM to 7 PM. An informational hearing will be held on the Monday evening prior to the election at a single location for the whole district.

Presidential Primary Election
The Presidential Primary Election is held every four years (in presidential election years) at the Barnet Elementary School on the first Tuesday of March – in conjunction with Town Meeting. Voting hours are 7 AM to 7 PM.

Primary Election
The Primary election is held on the second Tuesday in August in each even numbered year. Voting hours are 7 AM to 7 PM. Polling location at the Fire & Rescue Station at 151 Bimson Drive.

General Election

There are several ways that you can register to vote:
– Visit the Town Clerk’s Office and complete a registration form.
– Download a registration form on the Vermont Secretary of State’s website.
– Register through the Vermont Secretary of State’s Online Voter Registration System.

Absentee Ballot
There are several ways that you can request an absentee ballot:
– Request a ballot through the Vermont Secretary of State’s new My Voter Page.
– Download an absentee ballot request form on the Vermont Secretary of State’s website.
– Visit the Town Clerk’s Office (1743 US Route 5 South in Barnet Village) and complete an absentee ballot request form.
