A note about property tax due date: Payment of property tax is due upon presentation and payable on or before the final due date shown on the front of the tax bill. Payments must be received by the Treasurer’s Office (Town Clerk’s Office) during business hours on or before the due date. Electronic/online payments made via Municipay will be considered as timely if they are received before the close of business on the due date, as determined by the payment’s timestamp as recorded by Municipay. The due date is intentionally a Saturday, as determined by the voters at the current year’s Annual Town Meeting. The Treasurer’s Office (Town Clerk’s Office) is open on the Saturday of the due date from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to accept payments. Payments received after the due date are subject to an 8% penalty and interest at 1% per month for the first 3 months and 1.5% per month thereafter.
